The first layer, which is rapidly released, contains melatonin. Melatonin is a naturally occurring substance in our body and plays an important role in the beginning of our sleep. Taking 1mg of melatonin helps reduce the amount of time one needs to sleep.

The second delayed release layer contains Extracts of Valerian, Passiflora and California Poppy that contribute to a restful sleep. Valerian and Passiflora are plants that help us sleep, while California's Poppy contributes to optimal relaxation. The combination of these three plants improves the quality of sleep.
