The sterile, waterproof tampon pad provides protection against bacteria and viruses and consists of a non-stick absorbent gauze located in the center of a larger patch with a transparent film. (The in vitro test shows that the transparent membrane of the patch provides a protective barrier against viruses 27 nm in diameter or larger, as long as the patch remains intact, without the risk of leakage.)
